<image:title>Projects & Units - Essential Units:</image:title>
<image:caption>Adaptive P.E. : Special Needs, and TPR (total physical response): APE or modified, physical education program designed to meet the individualized gross motor needs, or other disability-related challenges, of an identified student. The program can be provided one-on-one, in a small group, or within the general physical education setting. For 6 years I used TPR to engage ESL and APE learners. There is always room for modifications to ensure inclusion for all.I was honored to work with SFUSD a school that prided themselves on their APE program and off campus events for APE such as: soccer ,basketball, golf, and more. K-5 Warm- Ups, Cooperative Games, Circuit fitness and TABATA: Your next big opportunity to stay fit could be right around the corner. I like to start my classes off building trust, teams, partners, & personalizing physical movement. Allowing not just students but clients to fully engage in cooperative games and warming bodies up to move. Not everyone is a natural athlete but we are all natural movers. There is always something I can provide to my student to maintain engagement. TABATA is a fun and easy way to get kids engaged with music and variety of exercises. Please ask me more about these units. Nutrition & Anatomy, Not Just for Rainy Days: Introducing basic anatomy and nutrition main food groups. I like to integrate muscle groups, FITT principle, and 6 categories of fitness regularly by asking students to point out their muscles or teach vocabulary with movement and Total Physical Response games. I am a kinesthetic learner myself and find it easier to remember linguistics with anchor points or physical movements. Racket Sports: What me, myself, and most students love about racket sports is that you can play the game even if you are a beginner/intermediate player. You do not have to excel to engage. Badminton can get really competitive and you can easily burn 700 calories in a single match! Most racket sports are learned with similar manipulative skills so once I introduce badminton it's easier to upgrade to tennis or paddle ball. Yoga, Dance, Gymnastics: Whether you’re an early bird or a night owl, a team leader or a freelancer, I have dance lessons for all grade levels. I have worked with urban, ESL , and suburban schools and everyone can connect to music and movement. Hire me and I'll create ideal secure space for creativity and growth. More details on unit plan upon request. Balls, Walls, & Fields, Manipulative Sports: Team building can be fun. Deciding on the team names, team captains, positions and you learn to rely on others in order to succeed. Coaching cross-country is a team sport; very individual vs. assistant coaching volleyball forced students to step out of their comfort zones not only for them selves but their teammates. Sportsmanship is a huge component when I start teaching manipulative sports because safety comes first. More detailed lessons upon request.</image:caption>
